I would not use a seller that marks items as 'Private' , you have no way of tracking the eBay-feed-back.

It is good you ask here and perhaps on other forums too.

There is so many coming on the market its hard to keep up.

Other members on here who know about electrical matters have usually recommended they not be used where sensitive electronics may be involved.
They are usually noisy and use more fuel than the top shelf generstors.

I think if your are using it for camping,you need to at least have a very quiet genny,even if you will be a few hundred metres from the nearest other camper.

Interesting specs for a 2.6 kva unit: 240V x 3.6 A = 2.6 kva ? Don't think so. Seems pretty dodgy.

Well its definitely NOT 2.6kVA, as mentioned above the voltage and current specs dont support that output (at 240v, 3.6A is around 1 kVA - allowing a little power factor correction)

It looks to me to be a 2kVA unit based on the model number, but given the sussness of the specs and the "advertising" I wouldn't risk MY $549.

Any sort of no-name appliance like that being sold on fleabay is a sure fire route to failure. More than likely, they are being offloaded on ebay because no retail outlet worth its weight in kilowatts would touch them with a barge pole.

I see Hyundai is getting in on the generator/inverter act too - are these some Chinese knock off as well or a product of Hyundai Heavy Industries like all their other stuff?

I've have a cheap Chinese one for over a year now, would have done a couple of hundred hours at least. People come up to me and ask if it is a Yamaha, cause it's blue, and say how quite it is, then I say no just a cheap Chinese s'it cost me $356 on e-bay. Only wish I had brought a 1KVA like a mate did at the same time I brought mine, he paid $220 damn.

Good to see a couple of responses that actual have one these newer chinese inverter generator.
When using e bay always check feedback, freight costs, specifications and fine print.

The 2.6 kva 2010 model on ebay would be a better choice to the link posted earlier. But could also be better chioces that are not 2010 models.
I have no affilation with seller, and sorry I don't own a generator but I am seeking to buy one.

Don't know if it will help you, but a bloke a work with got the new kippor series 2 2.6kw genny from bunnings for $1340 odd. Found one on sale at a camping shop then took the price to bunnings and made them take off another 10%.
