Hi all, we are going camping at easter up to Noosa north shore, the camp site just before the third cutting, what we are wondering is how busy will it be at easter (From previous experience, I know your not nostradamus lol) and will we need sand pegs up there or is the ground ok for normal tent pegs?

Cane Toad,

If your'e going with others it's best if someone can make it up on the Tuesday to score a prime position and places toilet/shower tent on one side and claims more space with a huge tarp and spread stuff out. When someone drives up the dunes for a look act it up... Loud music...get naked... look ferral etc. If they move in it's time to go home.

PS always expect showers at Easter.

Cheers

If you are talking about the caravan park behind the beach, then the whole place is grassed and when I camped there a few years ago there was no need for sandpegs.

G’day Cane Toad,
We stopped going there at Easter because they took too many bookings and crammed sites. That was many years ago though and there may even be different managers there these days.
You will definitely need sand pegs. We had a communal tarp where we used the two foot (600mm) sand pegs and even they needed attention at times when the wind got up.
After your trip I would appreciate a report on your experience especially regarding the number of bookings .
Myles.

Don't drive back to brissie via the highway on Easter Monday. Snail crawl Noosa to the end of the highway.

Thanks for all the replies guys, it is much appreciated.
After some consideraton we have decided to bin the idea of going to the North shore and are instead looking at landcruiser park at Easter. We do no to be boxed in with hundreds of ferals for a week.
Any input on what we can expect to find there will be handy as we ave never been there before.
