Hi All,
I am trying to find some reviews about Aussie Disposal tents (Hi-Country) and the Anaconda branded Spinifex.
I was all set on a Hi-Country
Franklin Extended Tent for $285 after looking at a $200 Jackeroo from Kmart but decided against the Jackeroo because it was 185cm and I'm 191cm tall. I want something I can stand in comfortably.
Had a look at Anaconda for the first time today and they had a 3 room Spinifex
Franklin Tent ($339). Was very very tempted to take my Hi-Country back and swap with this Spinifex due to the 3 room thing but before I do something so rash I would like to check out other peoples
views on the 2 brands if possible.
The main difference I can notice is that the Hi-Country has a plastic sky light in the roof, and the Spinfex has nylo rope to lock the canapoy in place where as the hi-country has strethcy rope (much harder to break)
The tent has to be suitable for 2 groups of people 2+3 respectively and as durable as can be for I guess ~$300
I guess my main question is the best brand of the 2 and peoples experiance with the hi-country brand if any?
Thanks.

I looked at the Spinifex tents when I was on my way to buying the Black Wolf Turbo (bit of a price difference I know) and thought that the materials and overall construction (particularly the quality of zips and screens) left a lot to be desired. Having purchased a couple of other things from the Spinifex brand (including my 6 month old table which I have just had to replace as it fell apart after only a few
camping trips) I would not be tempted by the low prices.
If you are only going to use the tent once or twice, then you can probably justify the cost. But if you're looking for a tent that's going to stand up to many adventures, I would personally be upping the budget a bit.

Its hard to buy quality
camping products, its all crap from china (Spinifex) and nothing is made to last any more. Yes its cheap but do we really need gear that only does 1 or 2 trips.
