There are 3 points on the floor - 1 behind each seat, use them if you can.

Use the point in the roof so the baby seat (facing backwards) goes behind the front passenger seat - depending on the model seat you get you may have to buy a short extension to reach the restraint point and the passenger seat will have to be almost as far forward as it can go (this is why you cant put it behind the drivers seat - unless you want to be squashed up against the steering wheel...)

I dont think there are any restraint points in the floor of a standard 80 (mine is a standard '96 and i couldnt find any...)

I now have 2 baby seatis in the back........

The advice you have been given so far seems pretty iffy. You don't want to muck around with this sort of stuff, so let me set you straight. The four hooks on the rear floor would be towards the four corners of the area, yeah? They are cargo tie down hooks and are not intended for baby seat use. They would probably handle the load, but they're not designed for it, so don't use them.

The three in the roof just inside the rear door are the ones you need. Pull out the plastic plugs (you may need to screw them out) and you'll find threaded holes. Install a mounting bracket in the desired location and Bob is your proverbial uncle. You may need an extension strap for your seat/capsule, especially while it's in the backwards-facing position.

Now, before anyone argues, yes, some 80 series' have child restraint mounts on the rear floor. There was a thread on the LCOOL.org forums a couple of weeks back in which we attempted to work out which models/years have the floor mounts and which have the ceiling mounts. It seemed initially that the models with the 3rd row of seats have them on the floor, and the 6 seater models have the on the roof, but it now doesn't appear to be that simple. It appears that, basically, if you have threaded holes in the roof just inside the rear doors, those are your baby seat anchor points. If you have no holes in the roof, or if they are not threaded, then you will find some threaded holes in the rear floor instead.

Either way, don't use the cargo tie-down hooks, that's not what they're designed for.

I have a '97 Standard 80 series and my child seat points are on the roof.

If you have a drawer system and have the roof points, I would attach them there!

I am a qualified car restraint installer and I have installed restraints in every type of car around. Dont use the hooks on the floor, I see people do it all the time and its wrong and very dangerous. Use the anchor points up on the roof, if you dont have bolts already there there will be a plastic tab you can pick off and install one. If you use the ones up on the roof they wont get in the way of prams and other cargo.

If in doubt check the car manual under child restraints.

you have all helped me and answered my question, l have the anchor points up on the roof, which makes it easy for me.

I got a proper mount and put it in and had no problem at all.

I am getting in early as we are not due till early March but wanted to get everything organized before l need it.
