While there are a number of web sites such as workaboutaustralia and greynomads I can suggest that in most areas - particularly in the western regions away from the coast - you only have to talk to the locals. Pub, CP, Stock & Station agents, chamber of commerce, local IGA or hardware.

We - wife and I - go out bush but as volunteers and in every place we have stopped we have been offered jobs. Do the books or run the bottle shop. Paint the house or build a shed. Even had one chap beg us to run his shop for a fortnight so he could have a holiday.

If in a grain area either the local farmers for farm work or try the grain receival depot as they are short on staff at harvest time. Graincorp in Emerald Qld was looking for staff in the last month.
Not all will pay like Sol Turillo but there even picking fruit can be reasonable.

My wife (admin) & i (automotive) are in our mid 40's have been full time on the road working for the past 9 years & normally stay in each location for approx 3 months (sometimes more if we like the job & the place) & work approx 8 to 10 months each year

We normally work out where we want to go next & make phone calls to employers in the area who might be able to use our skills

We have never had much luck with agencies or others finding us work & find the personal approach to employers works the best for us

Good luck for the future & we have never regretted our decision to do this
