FUEL -
GRANITE PEAK STATION (OFF CSR) WA
A group of 4 WA vehicles are hoping to do
Rudall River NP / Centre section of CSR and then the
Carnarvon Ranges. Just about everything is planned and in place except we cannot contact
Granite Peak Station (off CSR and near enough to
Wiluna) to find out if fuel - both diesel and unleaded/avgas is available. That is the most important point. If anyone has a current email (ours keep getting returned) or a telephone number that answers (answering matching just doesn't reply) it would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Maureen Wright

Hi Lefty
Just did a 'google' and didn't get an email, but this phone number and info:
''13 July 1999: AN4WDRN reports that the
Canning Stock Route is open from end to end after prolonged closure of various sections.
Wiluna Police 08-9981-7024 and Shire 08-9981-7010;
Halls Creek Police 08-9168-6000
Cunyu station 08-9981-2934
Granite Peak station 08-9981-2983
Glenayle station 08-9981-2983
Capricorn Roadhouse 08-9175-1535
Granite Peak and Glen Ayle Stations have set a $20/vehicle track-maintenance fee. It's reasonable when you consider the wear and tear on station tracks, and it is negligible compared with your fuel bill''
It's 10 yrs old, but it may be the same, dunno if phone numbers change too often out there... could try
Wiluna Police if you have no luck. Hope that helps.

Am trying to contact now, so wait a bit and I will get back with some sort of answer. They also might have driven straight through as they will be all fueled up from
Wiluna, see what happens.

lefty,
Been in touch and message came back : "There was a pump, but nobody around when we were there"
Bit of a bummer, so you still don't know for sure.
Aren't you going through
Carnegie?

Giday Maureen......lost your email address.
Got the photo of you, Lefty and Tom when we were up the Helena Ranges, sitting next to the puter.
How are you guys going.
Have a nice bottle of scotch put aside for when Tom's back out this way.

Ahhhh ! In my post,(a copy and paste), the last 2 digits are reversed compared to the phone number you have supplied. Also in my post, the phone number is the same as for Glenayle, could be the problem.

Maureen
My Info sheet has Glenayle Stn phone as (08)9981 2989
If you like I will email you a copy of this sheet, it's a fairly comprehensive list of all pasture leases in WA.
Cheers

Hi Maureen
The phone number for
Granite Peak Station is; 9981-2983
Glen Ayle Station's phone number is; 9981-2990
I spoke to
Granite Peak's owner a couple of weeks ago and he said that he was going on holidays to Queensland?? and will be back about 10th June I think. There is a caretaker there but he is a little hard to "catch" to answer the phone. Hope this helps, and enjoy the trip. By the way when are you going out to the C.S.R.?
