I am hoping someone within the 4WD world can tell me what vehicle the following Fan Blade is originally off...?
I obtained this fan from a 4WD Wrecker a few years ago and unfortunately it was left in the sun for too long and has now started to disintegrate... I currently have the fan fitted to a 6.5 Lt V8 Chev Diesel in a 60 series Landcruiser and would like to purchase a brand new one... But I have no idea what it is originally off..
The fan is made from white plastic and has 10 blades.
The fan has an overall dia of 439mm (17 1/4 inches).
Central hub mounting hole is 122mm in dia. (4 13/16 inches).
There are 4 x 8mm mounting stud holes on a dia ring of 139mm (5 7/16 inches).
The tip of each blade is 110mm wide.
There are 24 rectangle shaped slot like holes around the inner hub mounting flange.
The fan is approx 55mm wide. measured at the central hub flange.
The dia of the inner hub flange from the inner surface across to the inner surface is 198mm
I know this fan is not off an EA or EB Falcon... I have already established that...
Please help if you can

I can't really answer your question....but.....
My GU Patrol has a 6.5 Chev and I recently bought a new viscous hub for a Toyota 2F petrol motor and assocaiated fan. It fits straight on to the Chev and it works MUCH better than the viscous fan which Brunswick Diesel original fitted which was the original Nissan 4.2TD fan with a aluminium adaptor in between.
Hope this helps.

Hi Oldred83.
I worked fitting chev diesels for a few years. The best set up is the 1fz fan & 2h hub.You also need a good shroud and radiator.A good sheet metal company that makes A/C ducting can help with this.Radiators are another issue.Alot of after market units do not have the cooling of factory units. We did a lot R&D in this area and found this out with the help of our local Radiator
shop,
Cheers Guy

Your description sounds very much like the original Humvee fan fitted to both 6.2 and 6.5 chev V8 diesels. Made of a darkish yellow plastic. Sounds like big plane when locked up, shifts a huge amount of air too.
I'll try and remember to measure it when down the shed later.

Thankyou for the reply to my problem...
To see pictures of this fan.. go to the 4wd Action
forum... I can post pictures there free of charge...
The 6.5 litre transplant into the 60 series is the biggest mistake I have ever made... In almost ten years I have had to rebuild the motor 5 times as a result of cooling issues... If it does not crack a cylinder head, it will crack a cylinder block and it does not seem to matter which V8 Chev specialist company I buy the replacement parts/motor from. These engines are the worst advertisement for V8 Chev engines I have seen.
I have tried just about every thermal hub you can imagine, I have tried all Toyota fans, uncountable thermostats, electric fans (which are totally useless) and I have had a huge copper radiator manufactured...(which is for sale by the way). I have had about two fan shrouds made by professional sheet metal workers, I have had the injection pump checked, rechecked and changed on two occasions, timing advanced, timing retarded, injectors checked and renozzled, two different water pumps.. I can tell you, nothing keeps this bloody motor cool when you push the loud pedal down and make it work towing a camper trailer up a steep
hill...!
The Poor old Landcruiser is easy to push... Nothing binding or dragging...
At the moment it is about as best I can get it.. This huge 10 blade fan mounted on a solid drive flange pulling air through a Paul Weel custom made aluminium radiator with an electronic fan pushing air as required. Toyota HD75 thermostat. Purpose made metral fan shroud with the blade given minimal clearance and sits about 1/2 way in. (see about 1/2 the blade out the back of the shroud as the engine is running)
Sorry to sound a bit upset. But I have spent $1000's on this motor and I would gladly use it as a boat anchor if I could now afford to. To replace this motor with something more reliable is something I can not do at the moment and about the only saving grace is this Big 10 blade fan, which is starting to fall apart...
So if someone can tell me what it is originally off, I would be very appreciative...
