I have a hard floor camper with a winding mechanism with a strap to close it. The strap rubs across the canvas where the roof frame is. I want to glue a protective patch over these areas to prevent wear.
What type of glue is best? One that won't lift around the edges.
I don't want to have it stitched as I will have to remove the whole tent from the trailer to do this. Done it before, not keen for just a protective patch. Not really necessary either.

Contact glue would probably do it.
Or water proof PVA wood glue that's pretty good stuff dries clear as
well.

Thinking laterally, would a velcro-type canvas sleeve that could be slipped over the strap be an easier/less expensive solution?

Go to a sailmaker & get some "stickyback", it will be perfect for the job.

Hi Twinkles,
If you are going to stick a patch on the canvas don't have sharp corners on it, cut them off. This helps prevent the patch from lifting.
