Don't you just hate it when people brag and shove it in our faces about their big catches.
Wish it was me. I am jealous.

i received these same photos in an email mid march after the qld floods with the following info attached:
"These are some barra that were washed over the spillway at
Lake Moondarra in Mt Isa. They hit the rocks at the bottom and died. The pictures were taken by an ambulance person in the Mt Isa area."
separate to that, at xmas we all go fishing at
nambucca heads. brother #3 brings in his line after a bite, notices his bait gone as it comes out of the water, but when he gets it in he finds that he "hooked" a 1cm fish on the way in. the hook was bigger than the fish and we still arent sure how he "hooked" it as the hook didnt go thru it, just scraped it on one side and seemed to hold onto it. we tried to get him to hold it up for a famous xmas fishing photo but the weight or excitement must have been too much as he dropped it (hahahahahahahah). he was always bragging about how he was always catching the biggest fish on our holidays, but now he has another record we think he wont be beaten at on future xmas hols...

Hi William
I remember that news article - didn't those fish die from being swept over the edge of the
dam as it flooded and hit rocks below - so those people just picked up the fish at the bottom of the
dam. I think it was out at Mt Isa?
Lucky to be on the scene when it happened. Bit different from the rest of us spending ours trying to outsmart fish.

I caught this Shovel Nose Ray on
Cooktown Jetty in 2000. It hadn't even got hooked. The baitfish, about 8" long was just caught crossways in his mouth. He was very happy to be released. Cheers.Image Could Not Be Found
