I have just built a storage unit for in the rear of my GU Patrol and am trying to work out if a half height cargo barrier will fit over my creation.

Would anyone be able to give me the distance a half height barrier comes down from the roof/hood, or alternately the distance one of these barriers is from the floor in the rear of the Patrol.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

G'day Gunna Do,

Just walked out and measured the distance from the floor of my GU (DX model so no carpet) to the top edge of the Black Widow draws - 36cms. The barrier sits just (1/2 cm at a guess) above that.

This is witha set of draws that fit behind the rear seats.

Hope this helps

Cheers

To give you an idea of what I did (and size), I have an Engle 40l with 2 drawers beside it. I bought a Milford cargo barrier from an AU Falcon. I cut like the bottom 350mm off it and used that for my barrier. Turn it upside down and you will see...
I then bought some square tube and welded that allong the bottom. I cut tags etc off the old barrier and welded them on and cut the arms to length that mount up near the grab handles. If I get time I will take a pic.
You can pic the falcon barriers off ebay for $20!

Cheers,
Leroy

Thanks Leroy,

I hadn't thought of doing something like that, but it is a good idea, and then it would be the perfectly height for the unit I have built. I would appreciate seeing a couple of pics if time permits.
