I have a 2008 3ltr auto patrol which drops down a gear going from 2500rpm to 4000rpm on the slightest incline when set at 115 km .
The dealer says it's the way the engine management system is set up and I,m doing no damage to either the gearbox or engine next Thursday he is doing a full diagnostic on the C/C
But I,m curious has anyone else had similar problems

Have you put any mods on?
Larger tyres can cause this.

Something wrong with the shift settings from the ECU I would think.
A friend has a 2007 CRD Patrol....and I just spoke to him about this, and his will not kick down on inclines until about 1600rpm with cruise running.
Hopefully the diagnostics will show something...but it may not.
Good Luck.

Original poster has it set to 115kph though. If it dropped to 1600 rpm it would be a lot lower than that.
