Gday all, there is some ks per ltr information to all the buffs. We have just returned to WA from picking up our new Trakmaster Tanami, which is fantastic by the way.
Tow vehicle F250 Every day we had a mild wind, cross wind coming
home and fairly strong northerly going to
Melbourne.
Mandurah to
Melbourne 4167ks 755ltrs 5.51 ks per ltr 105kph
Melbourne to Mandurah 4234ks 936ltrs 4.53 ks per ltr 95kph
Those speeds are the general open road speeds
Enjoy your travels LOS

Ok that's 18.11l/100ks for the first trip and 22.1l/100ks for the second trip.
Not sure if that is good or not. Amazing what difference wind makes.
My Disco TD5 averages around 13l/100ks but on a recent trip we drove into a head wind all the way from Dubbo to
Bourke and the trip worked out 18.5l/100ks

Cram
the first figure was without van & the second is with van as I read it as they went to Melb to pick up the van.
That would not be a bad difference if my understanding of the post is correct.
Cheers, Colin.

Cram, I think you will find LOS was vehicle only on the way over and vehicle + Van on the way back and hence the fuel figures to suit. I may be wrong but that is how I read it.
Not bad considering the tow vehicle and the
road block they are towing.
Cheers, Trevor.

Amazing how some vehicles use very little when towing. My vehicle is like that. It virtually uses the same fuel if I am towing and the same when not....
