Hi, I have been researching for some considerable time to source a strorage system for my NP Pajero that will allow access to the underfloor storage space provide after the removal of the rear seats. Whilst I have looked at everything I can't seem to find a system that allows relative easy access to this area and I was wondering if any member has had any success in obtaining a suitable system.
Regards
Richard

Gaday Richard. Not aware of any commercially built storage units that give access underneath but as I had the same requirement in my JK I built my own. It simply is supported on a box section frame that when the draws are all slid out, allows access by folding the rear seats & reaching through from the back. I have enlarged the area under my floor to fit a 2nd battery, compressor, fuses & spare parts storage so although I don't need to get in there very often, it is important to be able to reach in to get what I want without removing the whole unit. Not that it is a big deal anyway as the whole lot comes out in 5 minutes.
Cheers Craig.............

Alternatively one could use ball slides that are removeable on all the draws. (eg: like the ones on the draw above my fridge) That way you just remove the bottom slides & reach in from the back.

Thanks Steve. Have made a few now adding extra features each time. The cutlery draw is removable so that it not only fits the Autofridge (pictured) but also takes the new plastic 40L Engel or 39L Waeco.
Where the 2 x 10L water containers fit behind the
seat I plan to mount a 45L
water tank with pump.
I've used weld mesh sides to maximise fridge ventilation & minimise the weight & with the alloy draws can lift the unit out by myself. Most commecial units are almost twice as heavy & can't simply be unbolted.
My last effort in the 105 series (Below) was similar but I saved some space, money & additional weight by running the draws on Laminex strips instead of the ball runners.

Richard,
I also built my own when I had my NM. Built a platform from 15mm pine that sat over the underfloor storage. The side supports were cut back at an angle so the front half of the lid could open enough to give access to the
well. Put two aluminium runners just under the platform with a ply shelf that slid out. Didn't have any drawers built on it but would not have been difficult to do.

Hi Richard,
Have been going through the same issues as you are for my NS Pajero.
Looked at Black Widow, Outback and several others however have come up with a system from Fourby Fitouts.
Am meeting with Mark there tomorrow night to discuss a system with a few modifications that I require.
Price is just a touch higher than Black Widow at this stage.

Maybe not. Many "Professional" systems are mounted on a plywood base that wouldn't allow access to the storage area underneath like Richard requires. (Hence his problem)

Maybe so.
We do two types of systems that allow access access to this valuable space. By clicking on the word drawers will lead you into our
home page which has shots of the system in the gallery.
Cheers,
Jim.

Just back from a long drive to Hallam.
Mark was away so met with Daniel. There systems are good quality and flexible. "Mix n match" so to speak.
The Pajero version starts with a flat base, however includes a trap door under the fridge cavity to gain access to the
seat well for those things you need to carry but don't really want to use often.
As I am also looking at a full back
seat fitout they are willing and able to do it. Just need to measure it up and manufacture. They have a system ready to go for a Prado but not a Pajero yet. Looks like my Pajero might be the mould if I go all the way with this.
Was pleasantly surprised with the price. Will be talking further with Mark next week when he gets back and no doubt placing an order. About a week to 10 days to supply.
They have quite a few good pics on their website. You can
check it out
http://fourbyfitouts.com.au.
Good luck with your decision.
Cheers Dazza
