My Nissan manual does not recommend use of chains on the front wheels at any time.
This is contrary to everything I've heard.
I was going to wear a full set i.e. front and rear for maximum traction and steering but now I'm not so sure.
What do people think of this approach and why would Nissan advise against front usage? Breaking CV's?
Thanks, Mark

One reason I've heard for not using chains on the front only is that if when going downhill you get a bit heavy on the brake and lock the wheels, you'll end up heading backwards down the
hill.

Go with the full set, go easy, and enjoy four wheel traction, methinx Nissan is being conservative. Now if it is in warranty that your Nissan is, be careful too.So many
places to go!
So much work to do :0(
