Hey everyone, hope someone out there can help.
Im looking for a campsite in perth to take around 50 first year university students for the night. Hoping for something with beach access, BBQs and away from the public. Been looking for some time but with no luck. An open paddock or something would almost be ideal.
Thanks for your help
Ian

You could try the Ern Halliday Recreation Camp.

Was a good spot for school camps back in the 80s. Went to a couple as a ' Parent helper'.

Cheers

Thanks for that.
I had heard about that camp just a few weeks ago. It looked perfect! But they where completely booked out with primary school camps. As where there 3 sister camps in and around the city.

Muffinman,

Maybe a drive around Point Peron might give you some inspiration.

I believe there are still plenty of campgrounds there but they belong to different organisations and I have no idea how to get in touch with them other than looking for contact numbers at the front gates.

For others' info, years ago our 4WD Club had our Xmas show at Ern Halliday, it was great.

If you are looking after Uni students, try the WA Education Dept. I'm sure they have something at point Peron, right on the water.

I thought of Point Peron the first time you asked Ian, but didn't think it was still there, then member Tony S talked about it last week. We used to go there for weekend camps from school; cottages, kitchen dining recreation room. Fascinating piece of coastline, swimming beaches and history.
