G'day, I would like to try out my 8 wheel (4 dual wheels) system locally, took me 2 attemps to get over the worst of big red, I would like to do it easier than that on the way to Poeppel corner, I travel Noosa Nth Shore & Fraser Is regularly but still not the same challenge, maybe somewhere along there I may have missed, any suggestions would be appreciated, regards, aussiedingo

Have you given Moreton Island some thought?, you could try out
the Dunes on the Desert,it's not a huge challenge but you will
have some fun.

Cheers

If you are traveling west then Big Red won't be anywhere near the challenge it is if going east. Are you returning east or going down the K1?

If you got over big red in two attempts, then you did bette than many. What pressure were you running in your tyres. Sometimes when it is really dry, just a change of 3 psi such as from say 18psi to 15 psi can make all the difference.

Try getting up the track to Moreton Is / Double Is Point lighthouse.

Reckon it is twice as high/long as big red.

Even walking up to the light house is hard work.

Yeah, your right axle, thanks for the correction, havn't had my morning cuppa yet. :o)

Few Ks between those two points, can't be the one and the same!

The track up to the light house on Moreton is what I meant.

Have a photo some where.

Hey Old Plodder.

I had a 1980 Short Wheel Base Toyota it was 6 months old, and
drove it up to the Moreton Isl Light House, the Cook and the kids
got out and walked up, they didn't want any thing to do with it,
the front wheels bounced all the way up there, they where the
fun days.
