Tilting Fridge Slide

Well, I have it almost complete.Just waiting on some struts to control the rate it drops and tilts back.Oh, and a coat of paint.

Closed and locked shut.Automatically locks shut when you slide it in.

Slide open and tilted.Once open, its sits nicely on the tail gate .Now the misses and kids can see whats in the fridge.
And the best part, its cost under $100 total.

What do you use to secure it at the back when in transit??

I did something smililar for my 40 litre Engel.

I used Shock cord to restrain it at the back, and it slides neatly under the rear shelf to stop it bouncing up.

I just used a couple of Tee Hinges for the tilting mechanism.

I reckon it is the best vehicle mod I have ever done.

(I find that the shock cord also 'helps' you lift the fridge to close it up again)

cheers

Nick,
Very nice work.
Are you taking orders?, if so I have a Waeco CF-50 that needs one of these.
Cheers
