I've recently asked about the Black Wolf Tourer tents here and have received some good info. Thanks.

Today I dropped into our local camping store where I know the people a bit. We got talking about tents. He says the Turbo tents are very good, particularly since they've sorted out the plastic knuckle issue.

But he also said, if your not going to use the tent as your maiin camping accommodation (it will back up the van, when we want to go a bit more 'off road'), it is worth looking at the Outdoor Connections tourer tents. The Barcoo is 2.6x2.6 and the Cooper is about 3.2 x 2.6. They compete at the same level as the Oz Trails, but he reckons they are a better tent. He claims they are about the best in that 'class'.

Has anyone got any experience with the Outdoor Connections tourer tents? At $600 cheaper than the Turbo 240 (for the Barcoo), I don't expect it to be as good. But maybe it is good enough and the money saved can go elsewhere?

Hi Norm,

I have some friends that have a Cooper Connections tourer tent and they reckon its great and is used on an extremely regular basis. They used to use Oz trail but after a wash out one night in the rain, opted out and purchased a Cooper connection. Initially they had a problem with zips but the back up was there and problem was solved by exchange. It has lots of breather windows which you can peg open of a night which keeps fresh air contsantly flowing through, minimising condensation. Light weight and can be folded up into ther same size as the top frame when folded correctly.
Worth the money spent.
