Was given a box of mushrooms on the weekend so I dried some to take with us at the end of the month. The little dryer we have is great but has limited space.
Has anyone ever built one ?
I was thinking of building a box with flyscreen mesh trays and hooking this up to 100mm stormwater pipe painted black. Put a putter fan on one end and hook this up to a solar panel.
Will this work ? Going to try it as I have all the bits laying around, but is anyone has tried it, your experience may save me making mistakes.

My Parents use an old clothes dryer for drying fruit and veg.
Before dryers were tumble dryers they used to be a just like a heated closet that you would hang your clothes in (about the size of a bar fridge) they picked it up for $40 at a garage sale.

Dad placed a bunch of shelves in it and it works like a charm.

They use it quite a bit because he lives on 5 acres and grows a lot of his own produce. He does apples and other fuits but hi dried tomatoes are the best.

Cheers
