Jim Jim, Twin Falls and Maguk will be open by the end of the week, Hopefully on Wednesday.

They are doing the final croc surveys as we speak, so if no water gecko's are found they will be open.

This will leave only a couple of places left to open.

Contrary to some Kakadu is not a hot and dusty place to visit.

Cheers Steve.

Steve,

Thanks for the updates. We'll be up there at the end of August and would enjoy meeting up.

Can you give me any info about West Alligator Head and camping out there?

Our plans are to go to Koolpin, Gunlom, Maguk then to Mardugal to set up for a couple of nights - go on the Yellow Waters Cruise and do a day trip out to Jim Jim and Twin Falls. After that we'll head up to Nourlangie, Jabiru and Ubirr, & camp at Merl.

We were thinking of heading back to the old Jim Jim Road and then to Red Lily Billabong and from there I was thinking about West Alligator Head and Shady Camp or perhaps a day at Point Stuart Resort before we head into Darwin.

Thanks for any information you can give

Hey Vivien.

Koolpin Gunlom Maguk Jim Jim and twin will all be open, at the moment only 2 mile hole is open and I assume 4 mile will be open soon and the west Alligator head, if you have your own boat 2 and 4 mile hole are good for fishing, I haven't been to West Alligator head for many years but there is camping out there.

I noticed on you profile that you have a photo of Sandy Billabong, I would camp there for the whole time, That is our favorite camp site.

Go the old Darwin road then through Alligator billabong, Red lilly then up to west alligator.

Shady camp is a must for fishing as you know.

All members are more than welcome to drop in for a beer.

Cheers Steve.

The "croc surveyor" (Lyndsay) will be on his way up on Tuesday with his scuba gear.

I spoke with him today, we are really looking forward to him joining our team. If his enthusiasm is half as good as I think it is he will be an asset to us.

We will look after him, he will have fun, I'm sure.

Cheers Steve.
