hey guy's, what tyre pressure would you recommend for the
plenty highway, i will be travelling through in late june and would have opted for 28psi but recently read on another site the locals choose high pressure to keep the side walls tucked in, i run cooper s/t, also i will be towing a coromal 10ft offroad camper and wondering if i will have any drama's with it on the cattle water pass road. CHEERS.

Gday
I'd run 35-40 psi on the
Plenty highway , only because Im not into farting around with tyre pressures other than dropping them in the sand.
Cattlewater pass is "not recomended for trailers" but you shouldnt have any trouble.
Cheers

Cheers
Laura..
I run 25 psi along the Plenty, softens up the going, and lets the tyre mould around gibber, and other shyte you will be driving over..
No Wuckers
Cattlewater Pass is an easy run, only put it into 4x4 mode once..
Same tyre pressures,(25psi), till I hit the bitumen, on our run into Alice..
Cheers Bucky

I would keep below 40psi the lower the pressure the more inclination of the tire moulding around rocks when travelling over them rather than a tight tire having to bump up over
the rock or
the rock piercing through the tire instead(when fully loaded and ct on i have never put more than 35psi)i don't know if i explained it very
well??

Cattlewater pass is OK if going south from the
Plenty Highway. If going north from Arltunga there is a short steep section with some big rocks that requires care. We had to snatch a smallish SUV towing a CT off there last year.

ok thanks everyone, cattle water pass sounds easy enough with the camper, i was more worried about the width, its at least 300mm wider than the prado, think i'll run about 30psi on the tyres although i hear the plenty is alot better these day's.

Just did cattlewater yesterday and on the northen end near the plenty hwy there is a few deep wash out ruts that could topple your van if you slip into one so try to go with some one just in case. But there is plenty of width for the van just a few odd sticks that you can remove by hand. Cheers Tony
