hi greg I have( dgas )on my patrol its a nissan safari 1989 import it is an automatic and is a 4.2 diesel . Have just come home from a 12000k trip pulling a 5.5 mtr poptop, and even that is only normal aspirated engine. It went well with a heavy head wind except bad fuel 3.5 kls to lrt but tail wind 7.2 kls to the ltr. I dont like putting fuel numbers up as there is a lot of variance with different vehicles .

I knew and felt the differance when the gas was not working I had an electrical problem with the instalation but this will be all sorted out when they tune it for a turbo unit . At the moment i am fitting a turbo they say that it will work a lot better as it was a bit low on power and as you use around 60%of your engine power just to move it there is not really much left to pull a van just do what i did, Bite the bullet and do it, as if you ask questions know one can answer.so in this order
1.Find out what the goverment sub is, in west oz. Fed gives you 1000.oo State gives back 2000.0 So cost us about 1500
2.is it low kls
3. is it turbo
4 size of gas tank
my gas useage was around 18 ltr for every 100 ltrs of diesel ,and on good going you can turn it off and save it for when the going gets tough .sorry it is a long reply but this what i have found out hope it helps kind regards morry

Morry

Dead right it does work on N/A engines but a lot better results are found on turbo engines due to the amount of air that can be moved.

Are you fitting a turbo to your patrol???

Hi Morry
Thanks for your help sounds like I better book mine in to have it done. My car is a 96 turbo diesel landcrusier but it sounds like it will still make a lot of difference even with the turbo
Thanks Greg

It will make more difference with the turbo engine than non-turbo.
