Putting my fridge back together again

Took the jet out of my 3-way as it was blocked. Now putting everything back together but forgot which angle the silver tube goes.

As you can see in photo below, I have put the air vent/hole facing directly out. Although the fridge works on this angle when testing, the flame sometimes comes out this hole instead of the end. not good.

Can anyone with knowledge on gas fridges, or someone who has their own fridge handy, advise whether this hole should be facing up, down, out or inbetween?

(it is a Repco fridge but i'd imagine the same as Kmarts Companion/Gasmate or the Finch)
