I am still trying to decide.

I have access to nearby Private Land for camping, the showgrounds are pretty small...

G'day Dave
Was at an update meeting last night and they are not envisioning any problems with spacing for campers - unless an extra 100 or so suddenly book in I suppose - but that isn't likely.

Not me!
Have you seen the price list for the merchandising???
And only recently they decided to actually lead trips.....

It's a shame, but we'll be heading somewhere else that weekend.

Brian
Tag-a-long trips have been on the agenda all along. Our club has been out many times on survey trips to sort them out.
I do believe that some confusion was caused by the use of "self drive" on the promotional stuff - that I admit was a rather dumb thing to say because even I would take that the wrong way.
There will be plenty of trips and no-one is forced to buy the merchandise.

"Tag-a-long trips have been on the agenda all along. Our club has been out many times on survey trips to sort them out."

Fair enough, that is contrary to what I had previously heard though.

"no-one is forced to buy the merchandise."

Quite correct..... however the Corroboree's I have attended in the past gave at least a cap and a sticker with rego..... and charged nominal sums for extra's..... TLCC's pricing for these items is a bit rich IMO. Realizing that no-one is forced to buy this stuff is one thing, but (to me at least) the notion that TLCC is treating this as a money spinner is hard to shake.

Having said that..... I wish you and your club every success for
the event

Cheers

Brian

Brian - I hope you realise that all profits go into the Association's coffers. So it's for a good cause.

"Moose posted:

Well.... be that as it may.... I simply think that TLCC is over-charging the merchandise by a long shot, and the emphasis (from my viewpoint anyway) seems to me to be on making the corroboree a money spinning event. I will be interested to see how much of the profit does go to 4WD Qld. You say "all"?

As I said, good luck with it, I hope it's a success.

G'day Captain Chaos
It's the annual Qld 4WD Association get together for all member clubs. If you're in a club they should have been notified by now and thus so should you.
