I have seen one with low kms and a good price. Always sceptical when seeing a bargain! Are there any issues with this vehicle that I should be cautious of?

Thanks for your input.

Might be worth checking out the saftey issues referred to in post 55003.

Have 3 friends with them. Had them for a year or two and they are very happy except when I lead them up a really nasty hill.

Thanks. Interesting safety report.

Regarding the hill - are they gutless, or just not capable in extreme conditions?

Primarily they are not that capable Dez , but you have to consider that against the fact that they do go to most places.

Axle articulation is a significant issue on most of these type cars.

One of the 3 is fitted with a Ditronic which does help a bit , and fuel economy is also good.

Off idle in almost all Turbo - diesels is poor and these cars have a special control to assist here.

Sydney...certainly been raining a lot here recently, but don't think it has been in a flood! One thing I did notice though was a little bit of surface rust on the underbody. Should there be any rust in a vehicle of this age? Also, there was a bit of an oil stain around the rear diff housing. Once again...normal or abnormal? (sorry for the questions, you probably realise it would be my first 4WD purchase!).

Thanks

Hey Dez,
I got one, I am happy with the engine of the thing but that is all.........
Had 3 bullbars put on, new seat, brake distribution valve mount replaced, mirror extention bar and the chasis has cracked in 7 places, radiator support has cracked and I am sure there is more but I can not remember. Nissan declined to do the repairs last week.
Worst thing is 99% of the time I have driven it on Gazzetted roads.

Thanks Peter. A recurring theme through the forum and 4wd mags that I have read seems to be "you only buy one Nissan".
