Peter,
I am seriously considering purchasing a Navman S80, moving up from a handheld Magellan unit which must be about 6 years old, and has served me very
well.
Question is, what is your opinion on the Navman S80, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of.
One concern I have is the availability of off road track maps for the unit.
Do you know what maps are available for this unit ?
What maps do you use with yours ?
Thanks
Barry H

Thanks for the tips.
Tracked one down at
Shade for various navigation units
Barry H,
I have only just purchased the S80 and am still learning to drive it.
So far am very happy, with the spoken street names rather than just "turn left in 300 yards".
It also has a function that sounds an alert when approaching a"safety camera", which might be useful when in a strange town.
Will not be using
mine off road, and it is mainly for when we are travelling.
Check page 104 of user manual for maps section

Peter,
Thanks for that, I have sort of convinced myself that the S80 is the way to go.
The camping show is coming up in
Perth soon, so I will go and terrorise the Navman GPS people about price and map availability.
Thanks
Barry H.
