Just travelled the Newell Hwy from
Brisbane to
Melbourne and was amazed at the amount of fourbies carting caravans, off road trailers, loaded up to the hilt and heading north. I was wondering if I'm the only silly bugger left down here in
Melbourne with a fourbie. Has anyone left me instuctions on how to turn the lights out here and lock the doors if I decide to head off too?

had to come back after swanning around Qld for 3 months and get ready for the Flinders. Just thought I might have missed some important news after seeing all the 4be traffic

I was just asking so that i could advise you if your time and place was going to clash with the closure of Gammons Ranges but as your not going that far it doesnt come into the equation....the Gammons is closed 21 - 27 June inclusive Richard

The funny thing is, the slogan on Vic number plates these days says: "Victoria the place to be"
Am I missing something here???

At least you'll get a
seat at the big rugby match Sat night.
I'm heading NW after the birth of the first grandchild in 2-3 weeks. SWMBO says we can go 14 days after that. I might take the daughter for a ride up a rough track to speed things up or I wont get a camping spot. Just can't wait.
I'd fly an EO flag if I had one.Carpe Diem

Macca,
Seems like a never ending migration doesn't it! When travelling, my hubby and I make a game of it. We rate all the car/caravan rigs from 3-10. Never give any less than a 3 because it doesn't matter what you're driving or hauling, at least your out there doing it. Only ever given out a handful of 10's over the years. To earn a 10 you need to have a very, very nice 4WD with all the fruit, a very, very nice offroad c'van with an a/c, stripes must match the car duco, tinny on the roof and a fold-away trailer. Of course, 10 is based on our dream retirement rig.
Ah, the things we do...keeps us entertained anyway!
