Hi Guys and Gals just a heads up, be CAREFUL with the cradle and mini usb pin on the new series of Navman as they don't quite fit as properly as they should and Navman in there ultimate wisdom may or may not repair or replace them under warranty!!!!
There excuse is it was forced, us it doesn't fit properly, play gentle with these units and save yourself hassles later.
Heads up from me as i set these units up for display and in contact with sales guys at work.
Cheers

Not just Navman. My Garmin 76 has the plugs sticking out of the back so you can't lay it down when you have the external aerial etc. plugged in.

I had a 76 and now have a 60CS and the plugs are bulletproof, you cant lay it down but I used a car screen mount.

Bonz, i deal with everyday, the store i was at guy came back thre times in an hour first complaint was couldn't put it in and the next was wasn't chargin, the thrid was didnt work, wasn't holding power button in long enough?
week and half ago, customer couldn't get the unit into the cradle, last year navman wouldnt fix a customers navman cause the pin had being force due to sloppy work man ship and poor design...................
Don't believe me, walk into any
shop that carries them and ask the sales rep our better still try it your self see how tricky them are?????
Then you can buy me a beer!

Oh I hear ya Chris, loud and clear mate, what i was saing is that they SHOUDL be bult bulletproof so the dummy cant ruin them. And it theyre not then the Company SHOULD FIX their poor workmanship/design failures.
DEsigning and building something so petitte for that type of application is ludicruous, they should be poked for such stupidity OR arrogance.

Unfortunately, like i was explaining to the camping store guy today, the companies expect 30% failure rate and add that to the markup so they get there dollars either way, bugger the consumer.
I'm having problems with samsung, a dvd recoerder i brought, just out of warranty, common problem with them, and they won't fix it but sent me off to a guy to
check it out, rang deptment of fair trading they said blah blah, if i can prove it went faulty before warranty expired, stat dec, yeap can prove and its a common problem.
So what do we do, warn and explain and put the word out, the more people that find this a problem the more the companies will stand up and take notice, hopefully.
we can only hope!

have a look at the Telstra 165 phone and car kit, has a small 8 pin plug about 6mm wide that you have to plug into the phone manually each time you use the car kit.
So Navman may not be alone.
