"There has been a male and female in that car and they have apparently launched their car over a stormwater drain," she said.
"Police have become stuck in the stormwater drain when they followed."
=======================================
What type of 4wd are we talking about???? Must have some good entry and departure angles ;-)

The letters on the police car indicate just how much intelligence was used to pursue the 4wd.

i can only presume that the police were doing their job pursuing a suspicious vehicle in the early morning and good on them it appears the bad guys have been apprehended and the police were not injured.

Hey there Dunco, I didn't say I didn't care, nor did I say that the bad guys shouldn't be apprehended, what I did say is hehehehe. Thats computer talk for "I think this has an element of mirth in it"
Lighten up man. The article says that the offenders were caught and noo-one was injured, although you probably mean that those that were aggrieved by the illegal activity were hurt. I agree. I have been there. I have been
places you might not ever go. !still think this is funny.

In some ways the responses above about how this is not funny indicate some of the problems with our country at the moment. It has always been the Aussie way to be able to laugh at ourselves. I would be surprised if the cops didn't stand at the top of that ditch and have a laugh when they looked back at where their car had ended up. It isn't disrespectful or in any way unappreciative of the effort they put in to chase thieves when you have a laugh at where that car is. I don't believe that Bonz's post in any way stated that he thought the thieves should have got away etc etc.
Grow up, get a life, build a
bridge and get over it.
I still think it's funny.
Tim.

Thanx Tim, my point exactly.
Had a friend who rolled her first car over about six times in Western Victoria, car ended up back on its wheels sideways under a couple of gum trees. She was OK, car was totalled.
She and I were sitting with the wreck waiting for the towie to arrive and two
young guys pulled up in a ute, asked if everything was OK, which it was, and as they drove off said "
Well at least you parked it in the shade!" We had a laugh about that for ages afterwards.

Yeah, what about the motor mechanic who was working under a fourby, the hoist failed and he was crushed to death. Ha ha
Or the painter doing his jog, top of a ladder, it slipped, he fell to his death, impaled on a picket fence. Ho ho
Gee, I forgot about the tree feller, fell 30 meters with his chain saw in hand. Would you believe he landed on it. Ho hum
The fisherman, out trawling his net, got caught up in one of the ropes, pulled into the water, finished up as fish feed. Oh
well!
The four wheel driver out with his family for a bit of fun. Chose a steep slope to show off his skills as a driver, lost control, vehicle rolled, all killed. When will they learn.
Why would someone want to make fun (or light) of someone who is involved in an accident whilst going about their business. Someone could have been killed. Yeah sure lots of damage to their pride, they'll get over it - it happens like that sometimes.
So before you make fun of someone who was unfortunate to get themselves into trouble, stand back, take a long hard look and imagine how you would feel in a similar situation. Not too good eh! After all, they were just doing their job - for the community -like many others.

Hi DIO,
I repeat that one of the greatest parts of the Australian culture has always been our ability to laugh at ourselves. The loss of that ability will be a tragedy of great proportions. If you read the article that was pointed to you will see the following information - Neither officer in the pursuit vehicle was injured but the accident caused minor damage to the police car. Which part of that bears any resemblance to the scenarios you are painting above? Do you find them funny to have posted them with laughter after them? The injured parties in this case were the thieves trying to get away and how they actually got injured is not even mentioned. The position that the car ended up in is what is funny, not the lead up to it or anything that happened afterwards.
Have you had a funny bone extracted recently?
Tim.
