A long overdue thank you.

After the Pyrenees get together we headed across the Big Desert with Willem, Muddie and Muddies Doe and then into SA to explore the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulars by ourselves. In Port Vincent we met up with Warren - Aussie Chef and had dinner at his hotel. He invited us back to his home for coffee and to set up the roof top tent in his back yard. We had never met or talked on theforum and we were overwhelmed by such hospitality.

John Renyard told Roachie that we would soon be heading his way. One phone call and we were invited for afternoon tea with Bill, Annette and the boys. This was extended to join them for a BBQ dinner, we supplied our own of course, and then to camp in the back yard. The following morning we were going to catch the early morning ferry from Wallaroo to Lucky Bay on Eyre Peninsular but Bill suggested the 2.00pm ferry so he and Annette could show us all around the area. Once again, we had never met before.

On our Big Desert crossing, Willem had extended us an invitation to stay at his place in Peterborough on our return journey. We ended up staying 2 nights in the beautiful backyard that both Willem and Judith have created. We just wish we could grow plants and vegetables the way they do. Once again we were taken around the sights and saw the things that are near and dear to their hearts.

Thank you and we apologise for taking so long to acknowledge what a what a wonderful family the ExplorOz members are.

G'day Robyn and Charlie,

We had no choice in the matter of being hospitable to you 2...John Renyard threatened us with a 2 week visit from Him, Lucky and Bonz if he heard anything bad about us back from you both.....so we had to be on our best behaviour (John R and Bonz we could handle......but once Lucky's name was thrown into the mix.....well, that sealed it for us..... hahahahahahaha).

It was great to meet up with you both; hope you didn't mind being consigned to the _BACKYARD_, but as you may have noticed, all three of us that you have mentioned in this dispatch are NISSAN owners and would rather be seen holding hands with Kevin Rudd in a gay bar than to let anybody see that we have allowed a Blandcruiser into our _front_ yard!!!! hahahaha (sorry, just kidding).....

Cheers and look forward to your next visit.....

Roachie

What a road of rubbish Mr Roach, many, if not most of your visitors are landcruiser owners, cos you like to hob nob with the best.
I have camped many times in your front and back yards, and I also have several photos of a gathering of cruisers around your "ROACH" sign out the front, havent I !!! Hmmm
Oh your a misguided soul my friend.
Hope you didnt try and brain wash the navigators while they visited ! Hahaha

Cheers Pesty

Hi Kev,
Very pleased to hear that you're very happy with the new car. Well done Al! We considered this option but Charlie feels the cruiser is too old to spend that sort of money on it. (Not to mention a turbo!)

As far as travels go. we are heading up the NSW coast early February to see Mother in Tweed Heads, calling in on the way to see many friends who have left Sydney. This trip will be in the sedan.

We're hoping to meet up with everyone at the National Gathering but can't comit just yet. Our recent trip to SA was to be the last one in the roof top tent but we're having trouble finding the right rig for us. If we make it, the set up will most probable be the same.
We have been looking at the Unimog motorhome but they are as scarce as hens teeth.

We could possible be heading up to Rockhampton before the gathering and if so, we will take you up on your offer.

The only plans we have at the moment is the National Gathering when we move up there ATM although Lyn wants me to organise a Gathering around Easter so she has an excuse to visit LOL

Looking forward to catching up again.

Cheers Kev

Hi Robyn and Charlie, great to meet you at the Pyrenees and glad you availed yourself of the hospitality.

I have found that we tend to drop by other EO members, known or unknown because we would be happy for them to drop by our humble abode also. And we stay in their yard when offered cause we would be only too happy for other EO members to stay in ours.

One thing our EO community has in common is a love for the outdoors and a hankering to share that fondness. It probably THE best reason to be part of this thing. I always said that EO people are great people, and have had that confirmed many times over.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time.

We went to Shakespeare with some EO people JohnR and Heather last weekend and had a great time.

Our backyard is suitable for caravans, camper trailers etc and would be only too happy to have any ExplorOz member set up there. As you have said, the common passion for travel and the outdoors makes you feel like you have known one another for years.
Only last week we had a 22ft caravan in however, not ExplorOz members.

No worries Robyn and Charlie, it was good to have you call in.

Sorry we couldn't make it to your place over the Xmas break but time was on the wrong side.

Cheers
