Hi. Has anybody installed a rear view system that uses radio signals? I have heard that they are susceptible to external radio interference?????

From the back of a car they seem to work.
From the back of a caravan people generally describe them as unreliable, due to the shielding of the van body and the extra distance.

Spoke to one sales guy at a Melb. 4by show . He said remote reversing units were good for a vehicle , but said cable was required / recommended for back of van applications

Hi Ray
We tested a few wireless systems before settling on our current system which is very popular and with the pre-fitted plugs is a easy DIY. Wireless tend to be OK for car only but not for car and trailer combo. You still need to find 12V for wireless so it is not actually wireless.
You would be best to stick to a wired system if you have a trailer.
Regards
Derek.

As I said in the other thread I had one and its in the bin. Wired is the only way to go. PM me and I will send u the pics of my setup which works perfectly. It not extrenal interference Its the bloody big lump of metal between the car and the back of the van where the camera is thats the trouble. Radio waves dont travel thru multi layers of alloy easily. LOl
