As the fishing is trout fishing the best methods are either fly fishing or spinning in some of the deeper pools. If you want to use bait then things like mudeyes etc... are the go. Was up there last weekend and the river had risen quite a bit with the last lot of rain (compared to
Easter time).
Cheers.

Better be quick. Fishing season for trout finishes from Queens Birthday weekend until September on rivers and streams. Lakes can be fished all year round.
Maggots are best bait if you brave enough to use them otherwise worms will do the job.

Best bait in a lot of those streams that are small is worms.
Only use a couple a small split shot to weigh the bait down and let it drift along the bottom. You will feel the fish hit the worms if you hold the line.
Goodluck

Mellisa ,
You absolutelly correcty but since we had temperatures
bellow zero and grasshoppers are all dead - there may be a problem.
Grasshoppers are best in summer.
