Anyone used one?

My mates is ~7 yrs old according to the date on it, the previous owner of the car mentions few cape trips, few center trips, and numerous weekends/days in the high country, and still going as it was day 1.

That sounds good to me!

Anyone else?

I have a number of Caterpillar batteries - have used them for many years. They have an exelent warranty and pro-rata arrangement. I have had failures but never any question about replacement. I have got a couple that were still in service after 6 years, and still starting the vehicle OK - but replaced them with new ones as we were heading off on a winter trip to the Simpson - as I didn't want to take the risk with a 6 year old battery.
All the Caterpillar batteries that I have had are either made in USA or France.

as a plant mechanic I have seen hundreds of cat batteries in service. Not only do they have a great pro rata warranty but survive vibration like no other battery.I've had one in my backhoe for about 5 years.

CJ do not bother wasting your time
I can show you batteries from lousy fifth rate battery manufacturers that have gone that length of time
I can also show you batteries from known quality battery manfuacters that have gone that length of time
CAT batteries are just a battery that under testing was no better than any other battery
CAT will never give you a warranty if it is used as a deep cycle battery
There are miraculous stories posted that are just that miraculous and baseless of fact or proof

Autolec dream on brother, your quote "There are miraculous stories posted that are just that miraculous and baseless of fact or proof " is quite frankly bleep . ring Gough and Gilmore or Hastings Deering and ask for a copy of the independant test results.

Gee Mary Jackson, Autolec, Fred Smith, we are getting some quality people here...... All talking bleep , but they are here.

As for Price, you pay more for them, but for lasting, this is 7yr old AND STILL GOING STRONG.

Im up for one.

I fitted a CAT battery to my cruiser and it only last 12 months! Unfortinatly I was in an isolated area when it packed up so I couldnt return it. I replaced it will an Overlander N70 which is still in the vehicle 5 years later. CAT batterys, in my opinion are no better than any other good quality battery. I have fitted a number of overlander N70 Batterys to alot of different vehicles and have rarely seen them fail. An overlander battery will set you back $200+.
