Was in aldi tonight, they have two cool things
1. 3 pack UHF radios, rechargeable handheld $69
2. Fish finder for small runabout dingy, I have a 3 seater this would come in very handy for $79 ( i think)

If you want any gear and dont have a mate in melbourne I am happy to buy it and send it to you. I am probably going to grab the UHF and think a bit harder about the fish finder, it looks good tho.

Phantom Man,

Thanks a million for the tip off. Would you believe that I was in my local (Seven Hills NSW) Aldi today trying to pick up one of their you beaut $20 Digital Verniers and totally missed the Fish Finder.

After selling off my big boat and buying a car-topper to ride on my camper trailer I rally miss having a Fish Finder. Mind you I'm not claiming that I saw heaps of fish on the unit I had, but brilliant to show bottom structure.

Guess where I will be at 9:00am tomorrow

Ian

Jeff when we brought it about a year ago, it was $79. It does not compare with the lowrance I have on the explorer, but for canoes etc its ok

And in Heidelberg in Melbourne they've got winches for $599.00. 4,300 Kg. capacity. and remote controller. No idea of the brand or quality though.

Maybe our hosts should approach Aldi and see if they would like to send them a kick back for all the publicity they get on the site...
I mean it's not like the AWB getting kickbacks from you know whom because the Aldi kick backs would actually go to Australians be cause the people who run Aldi get very embarrased if you mention the war...

As I have said at least once nothing wrong with Aldi stuff and their returns policy is outstanding. For those who are not close to an Aldi store I think they will send you nonperishables that you can buy off their web site...
