Hi GOB,
Off the track but wondering what track that is you're on in your photo. Being from W.A. we did a tour in Vic 2000. We toured the Toolangi and another one past the Dandenongs which had a park with dirt bikes etc(probably very generalised) and came across a very similar mud pit. Trying to remember the location for our video editing.

chris the photo was taken in bunyip
state forest east of
melbourne (just out of gembrook) but the actual track name i dont remember it was around the gentle annie or two scouts tracks area
but what a great area we went back a few weeks ago and it was just as much fun biggest problem is dodging silly buggers on bikes

I think you hit the nail on the head. The place we went was near Gembrook where my brother in law grew up. Almost %100 sure we went through that same track and also had same problems with hoons on bikes crossing tracks in front of us. I went through it in 2000 but looks like it's widened a little since.
Cheers
