I upgraded to a set of aerotech 4x4 seats and would never go back, I paid around $600 each and have had them for 2 years now and they show no signs of wear.

Duncan.........

HI Duncan, Did you get any more leg room with your new seats,I'm only 6 feet tall and i cannot stretch out in my patrol GU. I even removed the plastic stop under the gas pedal and bent the pedal about 30mm to get more foot room. I find it really cramped for a large car. The extra room has given me some needed space but still is not really enough. I have 3 nephews, all around 6'6", i doubt if any of them could drive a GU for a long time. I"m due for a new car next month and that may be the only thing stopping me getting a new 4.2L..... 'SPACE' Best Regards Michael.

I drive a cruiser so I can't comment on more space. I bought the seats from Motorcare here in
Brisbane (they have a web site, I think their address is www.motorcare.com.au).

Hey Duncan,
I have a 93 Cruiser with the povety option seats and was wondering about your Aeroseats.
1. Are they wrap around style seats?
2. Are they easy to get in/out of the vehicle?
3. Did you need to purchase any special fitting set-up?
Can't wait to get rid of theses bloody things !!!!
Cheers Nico

I also have the Aerotech 4x4 seats, had them in my old Criuser for about 4 years .I also had the sore bum problem,so fitted them to my 2000 G U Patrol. You sit a lot lower and get more leg room, also makes the arm rests more usable for six footers. I bought a blowup rubber pillow added a small amount of air which gives me a little more height and very comfortable.

thanks for the reply Ronnie,
Did they bolt straight in or did you have to stuff around? Very keen to do it myself.
Cheers

Bought the adapters from Aerotech and they bolt straight in.The centre armrest and lumbar support are excellent on a long trip.

Another option is to goto a wrecker and get some seats out of something like a Lexus, Honda, Merc..
I got some in Greenacre in bleep ney when I lived there, for my Rodeo $330 pr, full Recaro replicas out of a Imported Honda..
I sold 7 pr for that place.. they loved me. Mates all wanted them...

Nico My answer is yes to all of your questions, When I bought my cruiser it had a recaro in it so I used the base from the recaro to attach the areotech I then had to buy a base adaptor from motorcare for the passenger
seat ($150). Then to fill
the gap between the seats I made up a console which finishes it of nicely.
Well worth the money...

Have you considered the KAB range of seats. They have a
suspension base under them. As you would find in trucks etc. I replaced my drivers
seat in my cruiser ute with one. They will fit into Patrols I have been told.
They give a very comfortable ride without the numb bum thing happening.
I am selling my KAB 303
seat For $500 if interested New they sell for about $1200. Sold the cruiser and put the old
seat back in so no longer need the KAB
seat. lisadarrin@hotmail.com if interested.
