I'm about to embark on a
suspension lift for my 100 series IFS. I only want about 2 inches. As we all know the 100 IFS have a nose down attitude. The guys at ARB reckon that OME will not fix this and that OME will only raise the front by about 25 mm (1 inch). I've heard something about dropping the front diff so that the torsion bars can be wound up without affecting joint angles. Has anyone had an experience with this or can offer a solution?

What part of OZ are you in?
I had my diff drop fitted by W.A. Suspensions in
Perth.
The diff drop has worked
well, Lovell torsion bars and rear springs with Bilstein shocks all round.
$2600.00 with 2 x wheel alignments, second one a month after install!
Huge difference in clearance with a 2inch lift and the nose down is not to bad now.
You could push it more but not recommended by the team at W.A. Suspensions.
Have given it a good
test run, I am very happy with performance.
Saving up for some 285's to go on the 16 inch rims next, now there is heaps more room for them.
Regards Brooka..

The problem with the IFS on a LC100 (with or without the diff drop) is the more you raise the front, the less travel in the rebound direction (droop) you have. This will have a negative effect on front wheel articulation.
The end result you may have better clearance but the front wheels will lift off the ground more easily when driving over wash outs and uneven terrain.
On my old LC100 I lifted the front 35mm and found that to be OK. On my new LC100 I only lifted the front 25mm and I fitted a TJM T15 bullbar (better clearance than the Toyota bar) which had a hugh improvement on my appoach angle.
Cheers,
Topend.
