I have a troopy crumbling at the seams with rust. I want to take the cab off and put on a UTE cab, does anyone know if there are any compatibility issues? I know there are a couple of different mount points on the chassis for the tray that are not on the troopy chassis - however I will need to get a tray made up anyway so can probably cope with this ok - but what about the rest of the cab - are the chassis's different?

same chassis, different mounting points but that can be overcome when you have your new tray made, just put mounts where needed.

thanks for your reply - is it only the tray mounting points that are different - or are the mounting points for the cab (troopy vs. ute) different also?

i reckon the forward mounts would be the same, but behind the seats may be different, climb under with a tape and see how it looks.

As others have said, should be no problem putting the ute cab on the troopy chassis with a custom built tray.
You may find the last mount required for the rear most section of the cab may not be in the right place, but with an angle grinder & welder anything is possible.
The troopy actually has a longer chassis, if you look at the back it has an extension of about 75mm welded onto the end, which the ute doesn't have.

The chassis is also different at the back if you have the second tank or not as
well.
