I actually position the battery pack (which has a 1m lead to get to the anderson plug) in the footwell behind the passenger seat with the outlets facing the door

Prada Garageo , am interested how you secure the battery in the footwell.

Thanks
Pedro

G'day Pedro, This may sound a bit cavallier... I just "jam" it in, that is the short answer.
Infact The battery lies on its side in a "Festool" orbital sander plastic storage box, which just manages to wedge under the passenger seat enough to prevent too & fro movement in the actual foot well, with the seat pushed back. Sideways movement is restricted by the passenger side door sill and "other gear is wedged between the battery box and the tunnel. Over the top using the rear seat mounting points I have a sheet of custom wood fixed and the engle frig is positioned on top, and secured with rachet straps front & rear, over the carry handles, down to the rear seat mounting points. I remove the rear seats for trips and rely on a cargo Barrier for occupant protection from all the stuff in the back... hope this helps.

Hiya PG,

When you say you remove the rear seats are you meaning the 3rd row (which are easy) or the 2nd row?

If you take out the 2nd row, how hard is this? I have contemplated doing so for trips but never actually got to the point of getting the tools out.

Cheers
Muddy

Hi Muddy,

I've taken my 3rd and 2nd row seats out of my 120 Prado, the 2nd row are very easy - 4 bolts per seat arrangement.

In fact I regularly put them back and take them out, it's thats easy.

Regards
Alan

Prado Garageo,
I am waiting for my Prado to be delivered so at this stage am trying to visualise your set up.
Any chance of a picture on your profile?

I take it that the rear seats you mention are the 2nd row seats .
If so this leads to another question re the cargo barrier.

My understanding is that the genuine toyota one fits behind the 2nd row , and if this is right what brand have you got, and where did you get it fitted?

Muddy Doe and Alan W,
Do you have 2nd battery fitted and if so where ?
Thanks

Pedro
