Just heard this tale and had to post it as I still can't believe there are people this stupid around!
My Father works for RACV doing roadservice in
Ballarat, he got a call today to a Porsche that would not go. Upon arrival, the owner of the late model Porsche asks "where's the tow truck". My father had not idea a tow was required. When he asked what was wrong they said "it won't go". Dad asks "Why the broken windscreen then?" The reply was priceless, "because we tried to tow it ourselves". I automatically assumed when told the story that the tow rope had broken and gone through the window but no it's much better than that.
"How did the borken window happen?" asks Dad. "
Well we couldn't get the bonnet (or boot) open to attach the tow rope to the tow hook so we carefully threaded the rope through both open front windows and attached it to the tow vehicle", replies befuddled owner. Now heres the clincher, when the tow was attempted the tow rope stretched both A pillars, smashed the windscreen and did untold damage to the Porsches fine lines.
As RACV road service can't tow insurance jobs my old man said sorry guys we can't help you will have to contact your insurance company. he drove back into town shaking his head the whole way.
I still can't believe anyone would attempt this!
Batman.

ROFL, Comedy material that !!!!!!!!!!!!! Just proves my theory that wealth does not necessarily equate to brains, or brains does not necessarily equate to common sense.
Cheers

That's what I was thinking. He must have made his money from selling drugs cos as you stated, he couldn't make enough money to buy a Porshe from using his intelligence.

I supplied a brand new Falcon to our company's new electronics engineer, responsible for $3mill pieces of gear, some time back and got a call the next day advising the car wouldn't go.
RAC helped him take it out of Drive and put it in Neutral or Park to then turn the ignition over..........I started having doubts about our decision in appointing him at that time.
Doubts proved right eventually.

A USAF Hercules landed on a dirt strip in Vietnam and taxied into a trench . The aircraft wasn't damaged , but it wasn't going anywhere . The crew climbed aboard the first helicopter out . The junior army officer running the base decided the Herc was blocking the runway and needed shifting . He entered the flight deck , opened the direct vision windows on each side of the main windscreen panels and passed a steel tow rope through . An armoured personnel carrier was hitched to the tow rope and away it went . The Herc didn't move and the tow rope ripped out the windscreen and frame . Never heard what happened to the Herc but it would have made a fine mortar target . I did hear that the base commander was invited to Saigon to explain his towing tecnique to senior officers .

That Porche owner is living proof that it is better to be lucky than smart!
Quite a few years back now an apprentice at Qantas's mascot maintenance base released the jacks holding up the nose of an RAAF 707 for nose gear maintenance, dropping it to the ground and causing $3M damage.

My mates dad's mate owned one of those watercooled front engined V8 Porsche's when they where first released.
He was driving along one day when this light came on, "
check coolant" so he turned on the air conditioning.
You blokes got any idea how much a siezed Porsche V8 costs to replace?

Pretty sure it was today's Herald Sun, had an article about wealth and IQ, and that high IQ did not amount to wealth. The difference wasn't much.
