Has anyone ever heard of a person with the surname of HAROLT ?
He was in the army in 1941 and during his time during WW2 he chiselled his name into a
rock at Bowsons Hole . This
waterhole is on Tempe Downs ( via
Alice Springs ) and during WW2 the army did surveys of available water in the Centre .
I have looked for anyone with the surname of HAROLT on whitepages.com.au and there is nobody in any state ( with a listed phone number ) by that name .
The picture here is of his handiwork . It is not really important , but I just wanted to do some detective work and have drawn a blank .
Thanks ,
Willie .

Did a search on the internet, using Harolt and Army, and came across this. Maybe there is more to this mystery!
Aliens at Area 51
The last one to die was
Gordon Gray, former Secretary of the Army, in l984. As each member passed ... "HAROLT" Brown, Richard Helms, Gen. Vernon Walters, Dr. Lew Allen and Dr.
Theodore von Karman to name a ...

Maybe Harolt was investigating alien landings at Bowson's for the US Govt . Maybe aliens had him tied up there and he managed to scrape his name on
the rock as a clue to what happened .
Wow , thanks Col , I've got some serious thinking to do .

Try Ian Conway from
Kings Creek Station or Bruce Breaden from the CLC. I think Bruce is in Alice now, but goes back to Tempe Downs every now and then.
Jim might know as
well (Stuarts
Well).

As an aside, Willie.
There are similar peckings in Rona
Gorge west of
Glen Helen
Names and dates are pecked out in the same manner and probable age as those of alleged antiquity closeby.
Cheers

At a guess if it took HaroldT approx 2 hours to carve his name on a medium size
rock, how long would it have taken
the Governor of California to do the same I wonder and what size
rock??
