Hi Paul,
How long ago was the first headgasket blowout, two gaskets going usually spells trouble and money

Expensive things like warped or cracked heads or blocks spring to mind.

Sorry to sound so negative but I would get these things checked before you take off on your trip just in case.

Much better to fix it all before you go than 'do' a gasket in the middle of nowhere with all the extra expence of towing, accommodation etc.

Having been the "Prophet of Doom", I hope it turns out OK for you

Cheers

Ring around Yota dealers, they may have runout deals on the 1FZ-FE and 1HZ motors due to the new models. Better to have a new motor 100,000km warranty than a warped second hand rebuilt one. (if cost not a prob).

Try TLC in O'Connor on 9314 3714 - they specialise in Toyotas.

Hi Paul,
Some time ago it was mentioned that Brunswick diesels have lots of 4.5L cruiser motors they have exchanged for thier diesels. Just an option to try, I personally would be very cautious about rebuilding a head that has cracked or blown in such a short time twice.
Good luck
