Hi, Brad and sharon here. We are a
young couple (mid 30s) with two small kids (5 and 7). we are looking to travel up the cape in early Sept 07 with a
camp trailer behind our Patrol. then over to the
Gibb River, the
Tanami desert, the
Oodnadatta Track and returnig back up the
Bourke to Brissy. (Big trip, but should be FUN)
We are looking to meet another couple (pref' with kids similar age) to meet, befriend and travell with.
I am a Driving Instructor in the Army (get out on 20 Aug), so I have a good diverse knowledge of 4x4ing, recovery, bush craft and basic diesel merchanical skills. My wife is an accountant (but loves the out doors).
We did a big trip (on bitumen) around Vic, SA, WA, NT and back to Vic last year (11mths) in a 38ft motorhome and now want to experience remote Oz.
We love to fish, socialise, drink (just a few) and site see.
If you think you might like to do the same thing, please drop us an email:
macfamily01@bigpond.com.au.
We are currently in
Townsville.

Hi Guys,
With your good social attitude you won't be travelling alone for long, even if you aren't in convoy when you depart.
Last year our convoy of 2 vehicles with campers became 3 at
Moreton Telegraph Station - we were enjoying a coffee break when approached by a couple in a Patrol with no trailer - Are you going to
Cape York? Yes. Up the Telegraph Track? Yes. Can we tag along - we've never been "off-road" and need some guidance? No worries. We then travelled as a convoy of 3 for the next 3 weeks and still keep in touch with our new friends. And we all made it no problems (but bypassed Gunshot)
Cheers
