Dear all,
Any clues on the best latches and method of securing, to act as a safe, easy to use handbrake for a
home made fridge slide? The slide is similar to the
home made jobs posted on this site - using Hafele runners on a 50mm angle frame bolted in the floor of a GQ wagon
Cheers

Hey XXXX,
You can get slides from Concept Latch Lock & Hinge in
Melbourne that already have stop latches, they lock in the out and the in positions. Accuride manufacture them, and Concept,LL&H deliver aust wide.

Grandpa Joe, you are right that they are available but I certainly wouldn't want to rely on them to hold the weight of a fully loaded fridge especially when travelling on rough terrain.
I would be more inclined to use a positive lock as was posted earlier.
Regards Andrew.

As the company I suggested aboves name also suggests......... They supply all manner of LOCKS, LATCHES, and HINGES . They have a nice PDF catalogue that can be downloaded with possibly just what he is looking for.
hope this helps.
