can oziexplorer CE be run on a laptop connected to a GPS mouse. I currently have ozi explorer installed but the CE version seems to have more features.

You might be able to find a CE Emulator that runs on XP, but I think for practical purposes, the answer is no.

David,
OzieExplorerCE from my understanding is solely for use on a PDA. I am not aware of any features in the OzieExplorerCE version that would not be available on OziExplorer. Having used both packages I reckon OzieExplorerCE version has less features than the full blown OzExplorer.

CE has the screen are covered for different actions like setting WP's etc as
well as more/less detailed maps etc, other than that Ozi on the PC has more things it can do

Dear Z-nob (Bonz -backwards)
Could you please read your reply, have a think and then clarify it. No wonder I couldn't get my PDA to work with CE after your 'in depth' training sessions.

It was a long week in
Melbourne Lucy, what I meant to say is that the only benefit I can see for using CE over the PC version is the product linkage thru the generic host interfaceis far superior to that in non-screen enabled applications such as OziPC and for that reason I would use PC or CE for the majority of WP intensive route estimation.
Al you shoosh up! Don't forget ..I KNOW WHERE U LIVE...its in my PDA
And Lucy I finally cracked the Nortons for Vista code after an annoying week, and all fish are happily cavorting on the new tablet PC

I know I am still learning to use it but can all the toolbars available on CE be found on oziexplorer on the laptop. This is what makes me think there is more available on CE. eg can the bar scale be brought up on the map & CE had a little arrow thingy to show which direction to go when trying to navigate back to a particular co ordinate.

Certainly many of the menu bars on OziExp can be either docked or floating. Because OziExp is designed for a bigger screen some things are done a little differently but generally OziExp has more functionality than OziCe (and i have been using both for several years)

OziExplorer is designed to run on a PC or Laptop.
OziExplorer CE is a version designed to run on a PDA. The CE version is smaller and has less features.
A GPS mouse should run with OziExplorer on your laptop. NMEA only.

Tjilpi,
Are you trying to blend in with your surrounds.
I think you will have difficulty there.
Strip off and look in the mirror and you will see what I mean. Especially the area with the biggest girth LOL

Des
Thats a bit harsh. I would not normally strip off and look in the mirror as it is a sight I would prefer not seeing.

Kumunara,
That is a sight that I definitely don't want to see either.
