There are a couple of maps available and quite good ones, and certainly a good range of tracks. Depending on when you are going they may be open or closed.
If you want real serious try above Wye River/Kennett River for instance.
I have the maps (I have forgotten who by), but not with me at present.
Cheers
Andrew.

Barn
calder ridge track runs off Binns road near
apollo Bay, i went a couple of Kays down there in december 05 until it got real serious, I had no muddies or winch so I didn't go further. The hole that made me turn around was deeeeep, was some nice mud getting there

There is a good emap of the
Otways by Meridian. It comes with waypoint ready for the GPS. I have a copy and found it very useful when I went to the
Otways.

Curtis Track is good, Deppler track comes off Mount Sabine rd is better and you will need a winch to get you out in a couple of spots, Oragan Track is the best, comes off Binns rd. there are massive holes along the track, you might need to winch yourself out in a few
places before you reach the holes. not a place to go on your own.
Great fun though

Barn all the above information is pretty good. Most hard tracks are because of wheel ruts or mud. They are interesting rather than tough, some may be fun but although they are closer to me than
places like
the Pyrenees, they aren't as technical. I agree with your comment "sofar l have had trouble finding some serious stuff." Just
places you would be silly to go alone or unprepared.
Plenty of clay tracks that are surface slippery and/or rutted. Last time I went, I was able to drive everywhere even though our intrepid leader decided to get stuck three times. Twice in a boghole and once up a rutted track over a tree root.

Back of
Anglesea mate drive out the Powerstation road, then when you get to the sweeping right hand cnr straight ahead of you are some of THE gnarlyest tracks I have seen in the
Otways. I defy you to get up some of them, other than on a motorbike and even then........
