handy
just before i went back to work i thought i would get some oil and do the engine, rear diff ,transfer and gear box, looked up the penrite site for types and amount .
sent the missus around to get it.
i got out to work for another 6 week stint and found out i dont have enough diff oil.
on the website it says rear diff 2.1 litres and front 5.4 litres ????.
i didnt plan on doing the front diff just yet so only have 2.5 lt of diff oil. the manual says rear 4.7 and front 4.3 ,should of checked it first.
lucky the container i drained it into was clean.
just pays to double
check things and dont believe every thing on the net. cheers

Hi
My 2001 GUII 3 litre TD takes 2.1 litres in the rear diff and 5.4 litres in the front diff as specified in my Nissan hand book and
Gregory's Workshop manual. I have successfully drained and refilled both diffs twice with the specified amounts.
Maybe you have a different model Patrol?
Cheers
Phil

Hi
Makes it difficult when you are given the wrong info. Especially if you live out of town and can't whip down the local Shopping Mall in 5 minutes.
Makes me wonder why Mr Nissan changed the diffs between the GQ and GU models, as far as I am aware the GQ diffs didn't give any trouble. If it ain't broke why fix it?
Hope you can get the right amount of diff oil
Cheers
Phil

Gerday Handy.
I usually take all info that I get (not just on the web) with a grain of salt, been caught out too many time to be too trusting!
More is better, any excess can be saved for later. I usually get an extra bottle, just to be on the safe side.
