Anyone know what the difference between the Toyota genuine alloy cruiser bullbar and the alloy estate bullbar. What looks the best and where can i find some pictures of 100 series landcruisers with the cruiser bar fitted. Thanks

Toyota's Own Web Site?

Yeah, had a look at the Toyota accessory website but they only show one view of the cruiser bar. Hard to make a decision on that picture. They also do not say if one is stronger than the other. I have seen a couple of the estate bars around town and they look OK but no one seems to have a cruiser bar!

Fair enough, it is a little hard to make a decision from those photo's.

Can't drop into a Toyota dealers for a sticky can you? Sometimes they have the bars on a display rack.

Cruiser Bar is similar shape to normal bull bars (better approach angle etc) and is winch compatible. Estate Bar is similar shape/profile to original bumper and not winch compatible.
Used to have the cruiser bar but it was a pain to look after so sold it on ebay and put toyota steel winch bar on. No problems.... same mounts.
If you are only going for alloy because of weight... dont... its not that much lighter.

cheers

Thanks John. I think I would prefer the steel bar also, but I am worried about the weight as I have the IFS model and do not want to upgrade the suspension just yet.
I wonder if the Toyota steel bar can be colour coded to the same colour as the bumpers. Black just looks to commercial for me.

Hi I have L/cruiser 100 with IFS and chose an ECB (big tube) bullbar. Ok its alloy, but never doubted it strength. Did trip over to Gibson desert and back to Bris last year. Hit two kangaroos and only damaged was broken park/indicatior light..
My car is pewter colour and chose the simple black/silver hammertone finish as I figured if I had it colour coded to veh, the scrathes would probably show up more.
I can forward you a pic if you wanted to send my your email address.
Cheers
Leigh
