No, not a curly question!!
I'm looking for one of those curly water hoses that you can use in caravan park for connecting to the
water tap.
I've seen 'em but I can't find anything on the 'net about 'em, who sells 'em, price or anyfink!
Camec don't sell 'em as "they are not food grade plastic". The stuff I've drunk out over the years - 'bleck plestic' containers of dubious origins, dodgy wells in the WA goldfeilds, this ain't gonna bother me!
I'm just sick of coiling up long, reluctant, recalcitrant and just plain obstinate garden hoses when I'm packing up.
,,,,,,,,,,yes, I know garden hoses can release 'toxic chemicals" when left in the sun etc, but so does every other thing we live with these days!

Repco sometimes have a fabric hose that rolls flat into a coil in its own holder about the size of a pizza tray and about 2 inches thick. I got one a few years ago for caravan parks and it works just fine and is easy to store.

Extends to about 10m and comes complete with fittings.
Label has fell off tho'....
Can make further enquiries ifn ya want..
Cheers

Was also going to suggest that a few, or however many, metres of 1" layflat hose. A lot more water will come through it, as named it rolls up flat and you can use it for other things too. (you work that one out)
But I did believe you were the inveterate bushy who never went near van parks? Pehaps like me, getting a bit old and in need of some creature comforts?
By the way, how is the Getaway behaving, still tracking the 6.5l. of grunt?

Furph,
Yes I'm still the grumpy old inveterate, inebriate bushy, but I do go into town occasionally for a few beers and a meal at the pub and get some internet email checking done. Only stay a couple of days at most. "Her indoors" likes a rest from the hardships of the bush from time to time as
well. Then it's back out there for another 4 weeks or so. After all, ya can't find gold in a caravan park can ya!
The 6.5 V8 gets better all the time. It's certainly a lot smoother than when I had it done and the soundproofing has worked wonders on the cab noise levels.
It performs as
well as the TD 'Cruiser that I had before but in a completely different manner.
The Getaway is the ducks guts for what we wanna do. It's a place to eat, sleep and read out of wind and flies, no flapping canvas, no pegs, no unpacking and packing up - yet it's stil small enough to get into some serious
places off road. It just follows the Chevissan like a little pup up
hill 'n down dale, rough tracks, muddy stuff, corrugations anything ya like, it eats it.
Money
well spent I reckon.

Guys,
Thanks for all the replies. However, I'm interested only in the curly hose, lay flat hose on hose reels is not what I'm after.
Ever tried syphoning water through a lay flat hose?
I have to stick to my Golden Rule in the bush - "Always try to make one item do at least two jobs and more if possible".
First job? - Hose for a caravan park. Second job? - for syphoning water from containers into the van
water tank.

How would you get the curly bit into the container?
If you got to have one, you can get them at good old Bunnings.

Have seen them at
places like Whitworths Marine - they are attached to deckwash pumps etc.
Might be worth a look - link - Site Link
Is that what you are chasing ?

Gooday,
Why don't you put a couple of lengths of say 1-1/4" 32mm pvc pipe under the caravan fornt to rear, dpends on length of your rig, cap at front to keep dust out, cap at rear as
well, just push it on, never had one come off. Makes it easy to use & put away.
Cheers,
Boroma604.

I was in a Bunnings today and I was chatting to a friend who looks after the hose section. She pointed out a couple of brands of curly water hose that she said were ****. So if you go to Bunnings and find what you want ask the assistant which ones get returned !

If I think I know what your on about. try the 12 Volt

Cossetted Superflat has a 20 metre hose on a white cassette, Superflat hose is also available separately in 20m lengths.
1/2 inch x 20m
High Flexibility
Drains easily
F&DA approved for potable water

Thanks for all the replies guys. After due consideration I reckon the curly hoses that I've found aren't long enough to be any use in a van park.
I reckon I'll go with one of the various PVC tube ideas for simpler storage of the existing garden hose that I use.
Thanks,
Bilbo
