Water in Triplet and Erskin falls two weeks ago. I bet there would be heaps after the rain that was forecast for today/tomorrow.

There's lots of bush camps at Aire Crossing but I don't think in the rain situation, I'd be risking taking van in there - not much room to turn around once you get in there and on the way too as I recall, and certainly nothing set up with vans in mind ... you could park the Van at the Otways Fly and go down and decide for yourself of course.

There is currently a warning that NPs have put out for the area that I get as a Licensed Tour Operator ... may be just caution, or might be genuine issue.

The Triplet Falls Walk and Aire Crossing - I guess the swollen river/creek whatever, are particularly mentioned.

As for fishing, I'm not the right person to ask ;-)

of course, even I know that there is surf fishing there ... but in the rivers/lakes ... I seem to recall Lake Elizabeth is a no fish spot, but I don't recall others.

70mm in the past two days and still going.

Would not want to put a caravan anywhere near Aire Crossing, try somewhere safer like the park on the Cape Otway Lighthouse road, and drive to the fishing spots.

Regards

not sure about aire crossing or where it is but aire river campground should be fine on the eastern side, it is well above the water line if the river rises at all, also you are allowed fires on the east, not the west though.

except on Complete Fire Ban Days.

Aire Crossing is on the same river quite some way up the hill, so to speak ...

Sorry I was on holidays when you replied, Redbanks Campground at S 38 40.085 E 143 34.859. as you drive down Binns rd towards Apollo Bay you will see an old wooden bridge, it's right next to that. only 1.3 kms east from Hopetown falls.
